A Heartbroken Family...

That is the only way I can think to describe us right now. Some of you already know that we unexpectedly lost Grandpa B on Monday May 9th. Those of you that have been blessed enough to meet him in real life, will know what I'm talking about when I tell you that the world is a lesser place without him. I don't know exactly how old he was, but he had a young spirit. My daughters adored him. For the past 6 years he has lived at Lapeer Medical Facility a.k.a Suncrest. It's a nursing home (the best one in the state IMO). Almost all of those 6 years he was crowned prom king. Everyone loved him. He was the kind of person that brightened up a room when he entered it.

After I got the call from my Mother-in-law on Monday, Dan and I went to Suncrest to be with the rest of the family. We sat in Grandpa's room, and so many nurses came in to hug Grandma and tell her just how much they loved Grandpa. They told us he spent the morning making his rounds in his wheelchair, visiting the nurses and giving them high 5's. He loved his wheelchair, he especially loved popping wheelies with it, he wild get going fast then throw the breaks and pop a wheelie. To see him do it was kind of scary, but he loved it.

Here are a few recent photo's:

Halloween 2008, was the best. Grandpa, we will miss you.
